Statement on behalf of The Garioch Partnership
You may have heard of changes here at The Garioch Partnership. We are disappointed to announce that in light of the reduced funding offered from Aberdeenshire Council CED’s Revenue Grant, and a new Service Level Agreement, which accompanied the reduced funding, we are regretfully unable to continue to offer the development and organisational support in the way we have always taken great pride in.
Aberdeenshire Council has taken the decision to reduce funding for the Rural Partnerships from the current level to £22,500 per year, with an additional £3,000 from the Garioch Area Manager. This does not give TGP the financial security to maintain current staffing levels or move the organisation forward. There were offers of other small pots of money, but again only on a short term basis, which provided no long term security.
Using the skills of TGP and Dawn, we have searched far and wide for alternative funding, but sadly we could not find any sustainable funding that would allow TGP to continue the work we currently do, whilst also enabling us to meet our charitable requirements.
Sadly, this means that Dawn will be leaving TGP to move on to pastures new. TGP will continue, but on a much reduced scale, utilising our website to signpost and provide information on funding, events and available support to the sector, in order to keep you abreast of information.
We will do what we can to continue to keep you informed, and hope the information on the website is useful.
