Below are comments from some of our members, partners and others.
The Bailies of Bennachie are in the process of changing its constitution so it is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation. Without the help of Dawn and Anne from The Garioch Partnership we would not have known where to start. Dawn has been extremely helpful providing templates and guidance as our organisation enters the 21 Century.
Westhill Men’s Shed is thriving. It is meeting a need in Westhill for men to have somewhere to go to talk to other men and produce equipment from our workshop for the community and ourselves. The result is a healthier population of men with a more positive outlook on life. We must thank The Garioch Partnership for a ‘filtered information service’. There are so many initiatives these days that the tendency is to ignore them all due to lack of time to understand who they are and whether they are of relevance to us. A few words at the start of an email can put this context into the information guiding us to the important parts and where we can get support and grants.
SensationALL charity supports children and adults with disability and their families or professionals who work with this group. We cover the whole of the North East and offer a range of different services to empower families through a range of direct specialist led activities or social groups, facility hire of Soft play and Multi-sensory rooms and needs-led training workshops for , individuals, families and professionals from all backgrounds. We work closely with other third sector organisations and statutory services and very much rely on our increasing group of volunteers to deliver these services. We cannot thank The Garioch Partnership enough for the fantastic support in helping us with all aspects in developing this charity from very practical advice on creating business plans and funding through to helping signpost and guide us through the stages of applying for a CAT. Dawn & Anne have been an invaluable source of knowledge in this field as well as information on sharing relevant contacts and being an emotional crutch when things may have not gone as smoothly as we hoped. We are certain that without your help we would not have progressed as fast or as far as we have ……..so again, many thanks !!
“The team at Fly Cup Catering is delighted with the support that we have received from The Garioch Partnership. They are always willing to give advice, listen and assist with any queries through formal support or general conversation.”
Kintore and District Community Council is delighted to be working with Anne and the TGP team in preparing an Action Plan for Kintore. The range of experience and knowledge within the team is very beneficial to us in enabling communication with the relevant departments within the council along with people and organisations outwith the Council.”
Grampian Opportunities “Our connection with the Garioch Partnership has given us access to help us to make successful funding applications to support our work, and an award from the Community Initiative Fund helped GO purchase a mobile screen for our base at Kintore. We know that the development workers at The Garioch Partnership have considerable knowledge and experience of the issues which affect voluntary sector organisations, and we are confident that they can represent our views at planning and policy level meetings. Attending their meetings and events has helped us better connect to other groups in the area.
Lawsondale Trust, Westhill “The committees from both Westdyke Community Club and the Lawsondale Sports Centre Trust are indebted to the valuable support and advice which is received from The Garioch Partnership. If there are any areas of complexity for us to deal with, the team at Garioch are always willing to assist us in whatever way possible or point us in the right direction. ”
Cornfields Scotland Ltd and The Garioch Community Kitchen have worked together to deliver healthy nutrition sessions with funding from the Community Initiative Fund “I have enjoyed these sessions learning more about nutrition and food types, trying new foods I wouldn’t normally have” “The group have all been friendly and very helpful”
Local Councillor commented how impressed he was at the range of work the partnership did and how we ought to be sharing the breadth of work we deliver to others.
Kemnay Village Hall “We asked The Garioch Partnership to audit of our annual accounts, which we are delighted that TGP do for us so that we can present them to OSCR.
Garioch Partnership are currently guiding us through the process of changing from a regular charity account to a SCIO, and are doing so in a fashion that allows all of the Committee members, including those that struggle with this type of thing, to understand”.
Fetternear Hall “The Garioch Partnership has been a tremendous support to us at Fetternear Hall. Our committee is made up of local people willing to work for the Hall but ignorant of the rules and procedures that must be followed. The Garioch Partnership has kept us right in these matters, by attending our AGM and setting us on the right path, helping us set up a ‘proper’ constitution as well as being on the end of the phone to answer any queries that may arise.
We are working hard to raise funds for necessary repairs, again The Garioch Partnership have helped us greatly. As well as pointing us in the right direction for funding applications, they have also assisted in the actual application process by proof reading our claim forms and, thanks to their advice, we have been successful in acquiring funds from more than one funder”.
