About Action Kintore
Action Kintore SCIO is a registered charity set up in 2009 to provide facilities for the young people of and around Kintore, a project known as The Bothie.
A purpose built building was opened in 2013 in the heart of Kintore, providing a safe and fun environment to a range of youth and community groups.
The building and support staff are funded entirely from grants and fundraising, with all Bothie youth evening and events provided free of charge.
More recently, Action Kintore has added the Town House project to its remit, examining the options to bring Kintore’s 18th century Town House back into use for the community.

Testimonials
On behalf of Action Kintore, the board of trustees are delighted to endorse the support received from The Garioch Partnership. As a charitable organisation with little self-generated income, we are totally reliant on funding support and the Garioch Partnership have contributed to that support over a number of years. Funding to start our Bothie Girls (The BGee’s) project and items including projector & screen, a much-needed laptop and financial support for materials to meet Covid-19 requirements as we re-opened for youth work, are included in the support we’ve had from The Garioch Partnership, all of which is greatly appreciated. As well as funding support, the advice and guidance provided by Dawn Brown and the GP team has been un-measurable. Your support through our transition from Limited company to SCIO was so valuable in keeping us on the right track through the changes in structure, our obligations and responsibilities. This enabled an easy transition, for which we are extremely grateful. As we enter a new phase in Action Kintore, applying to take over the Town House, Dawn’s advice on charitable compliance on the funding we received prior to the Town House project has kept us on the right track in the utilisation of funds and ensured we kept on the right side of the charitable laws.We feel we are now in a good place as we begin our funding for the Town House project.Dawn regularly attends our monthly board meetings and is a very valuable advisor to all of the volunteer trustees and members of Action Kintore and provides a lot of regular support to our Youth Worker, Rachel Lewis. To be honest without The Garioch Partnership, we would struggle with the operation of our charity as there are so many aspects, we have little experience in coming from our varied backgrounds, the resourcefulness of GP is an easy reach out for us and always delivers.
The Garioch Partnership have been a great support for Action Kintore over the years and we wouldn't be in the great place we are as a committee without them. Dawn Brown has been a fantastic help to us in many ways, but in particular she has helped with funding applications and their processes, GDPR legislations and connecting with other local organisations in the area, and we cannot thank her and The Garioch Partnership enough. A great organisation for many of us in the Garioch area.
